RocketMinds Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use rocketminds.io, including its resource pages, public forms, RocketMinds for Actors pages, and the RocketMinds Venture Partner portal (collectively, the "Site"), or otherwise communicate with us through the Site.

This Privacy Policy does not govern separate websites or products that maintain their own privacy policies, such as Tegy. It also does not govern information that RocketMinds processes on behalf of a client under a separate written agreement; that agreement controls that processing.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:

• Inquiries and business contacts: Your name, work email address, company or fund, role, website or LinkedIn URL, and the information you include in a message or project description.
• Resources and communications: Your email address, name, company, role, the resource you request, and your email preferences.
• RocketMinds for Actors: Your email address, name, market or city, product interests, purchasing or investment readiness, timing, and related request information.
• Venture Partner portal: Account and authentication information; contact details; professional profile information such as your headline, biography, skills, experience, location, time zone, website, LinkedIn, and GitHub; profile photographs, resumes, biography slides, and other files you upload; and project-interest, availability, and participation information. Authentication credentials are handled by our authentication provider, and RocketMinds does not receive your password in plain text.
• Other communications: Information you provide when you communicate with us, request support, apply for an opportunity, or otherwise interact with RocketMinds.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser and device information, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, dates and times, interactions, downloads, approximate location derived from IP address, and referral or campaign parameters such as UTM data. We collect some of this information through cookies and similar technologies.

Information from other sources. We may receive business contact information from colleagues, clients, Venture Partners, referral sources, or other people who introduce or invite you to interact with RocketMinds.

Please do not submit government identification numbers, financial account information, health information, or other highly sensitive personal information through public Site forms.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

• Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Site, resources, and portal.
• Respond to inquiries, evaluate fit, and communicate about potential or existing engagements.
• Deliver requested resources and transactional or service messages.
• Create and manage Venture Partner accounts, profiles, opportunities, project interests, and participation.
• Communicate about RocketMinds updates, resources, products, or opportunities when you have opted in or when otherwise permitted by law.
• Measure Site performance, referral sources, resource usage, and engagement.
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful activity.
• Comply with law, enforce our agreements, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

3. Legal Bases Where Required

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal information as necessary to take steps at your request or perform a contract; for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving RocketMinds and managing business relationships; with your consent; or to comply with legal obligations.

You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect processing already completed.

4. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

• Service providers that support hosting, content delivery, security, database services, authentication, file storage, analytics, email delivery, and communications. These providers currently include services such as Cloudflare, Google Analytics, and Supabase.
• Clients, prospective clients, Venture Partners, and other project participants when you ask to be considered for an opportunity, when disclosure is reasonably necessary to manage a project or business relationship, or when you direct us to disclose the information.
• Professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or handle a legal claim.
• A buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
• Other parties with your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not rent personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for security, core functionality, analytics, and referral measurement. For example, Cloudflare may use security cookies, and Google Analytics and our hosting or analytics providers may collect Site-usage information.

We do not currently use the Site for interest-based advertising. Some third-party analytics providers may collect information about activity over time and across websites or online services, subject to their own privacy policies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality. Where a consent-management tool is made available, you may also use that tool to manage nonessential cookies.

Because there is no uniform industry standard for browser-based Do Not Track signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. We honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to manage an active or prospective business relationship, provide requested resources, maintain the Venture Partner portal, honor communication preferences, comply with legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods vary by the type of information and relationship. We may retain limited suppression-list information after you unsubscribe so that we can honor your request.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we delete, anonymize, or securely isolate it, subject to backup cycles and legal requirements.

7. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; or to appeal a decision regarding a privacy request.

To submit a request, email privacy@rocketminds.io. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Rights are not absolute, and applicable law may permit or require us to retain certain information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. You may still receive transactional, account, security, or relationship messages that are not marketing.

If European Economic Area or United Kingdom data-protection law applies, you may also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

8. International Data Transfers

RocketMinds is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process personal information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your portal credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for business users and adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact privacy@rocketminds.io. Individuals under the age of majority in their location should use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

11. Third-Party and Affiliated Sites

The Site may link to third-party or affiliated websites and products, including Tegy, that maintain their own terms and privacy policies.

This Privacy Policy does not govern those sites or their practices. Review the applicable privacy policy before providing personal information to another site or product.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the Last Updated date.

If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Site, by email, or through another appropriate method.
